I THOUGHT I KNEW YESTERDAY

I Thought I Knew Yesterday

I thought I knew yesterday
What I didn't today
I thought I felt happiness
Coming my way.

I thought I saw yesterday
What would happen tomorrow
And receive joy in hand fulls
Not buckets of sorrow.

I thought I'd found yesterday
What would come with the dawn
A little dream coming true
That by night would be gone.

I thought I believed yesterday
What I cannot today
For today like a thief
Has stolen all hope away.

I thought I tasted yesterday
What was sure to be great
But today I am holding
Just this cold empty plate.

I thought I knew yesterday
What tomorrow would bring
But tomorrow is here now
And I don't know a thing.

  1. Her anticipation for what would come tomorrow.
Only to wake up to nothing but sorrow!
My poooor little ole sensitive heart is breaking and I don’t know what to do.
She needs to be consoled and told that she’s loved too!
How do I get this message to her
And let her know she’s free
To walk these streets of yesterday
    Holding hands today with me!
    I love this!!!!!
Sorry, I got carried away with her! Whoever she is!

    2. I forgot that I wrote that! And thank you!
It was just a spontaneous reply. To someone who seemed so shy. Look up my dear. Let me see your face. Let me take you away from this place. To places so distant, far and wide. Let me take you on a magnificent ride. Fill your life with jot and laughter. Now and forever after!
See how I get carried away!

    4. What can I say. I get carried away. But I don't leave empty as I go my way! She barks at me "Ruff""L" as she "lol"lies around. Wondering if every comment has been found! I leave her crumbs as a bit of a tease. To see if she keeps going or says "stop, pretty please!" But knowing her tenacity to never give in. She'll keep on looking till she says, "I win" with a grin!!!

And BTW (that's by the way)that's "joy" and laughter..." I typoed earlier.
