ODE TO WOMEN ENTWINED AROUND AN APPLE TREE SATAN SAID TO EVE: "WOULDST THOU LIKE AN APPLE FROM MY GOLDEN APPLE TREE?" AND EVER SINCE THE APPLE WOMANKIND HAS BEEN BLAMED FOR ALL CALAMITIES AND EVERY KIND OF SIN. WHENEVER WE MAKE SMALL MISTAKES IT'S TAKEN AS AN OMEN MEN ALL SHAKE THEIR HEADS AND SAY "NOW, THAT'S JUST LIKE A WOMAN." AND MEN BELIEVE THAT WE CONCEIVE CHILDREN JUST BY WISHING 'CAUSE THEY ALL SAY THAT MEN HAD RATHER BE OFF SOMEWHERE FISHING. HURRICANES AND SHIPS AND STORMS ARE CALLED BY FEMALE NAMES BECAUSE WE ARE SO WILD, THEY SAY AND DIFFICULT TO TAME. EVERY TIME YOU STUMBLE ON A DRUNKARD BY THE WAY HE'LL TELL YOU 'TWAS A WOMAN THAT TURNED HIM OUT THAT WAY. WOMEN MAKE MEN DRINK, THEY SAY AND GAMBLE, STEAL AND DIE WOMEN BREAK THEIR HEARTS OF GOLD AND NEVER EVEN SIGH. WHEN A BAD BOY GOES TO PRISON WITH ALL HIS CRIMINAL BROTHERS HE'S SURE TO SAY WHEN ASKED IN PITY "IT STARTED WITH MY MOTHER." POOR WOMANKIND HAS BEEN THROUGH MUCH SINCE EVE PUT US IN PRISON BUT AT LEAST SHE HAD THE GUMPTION TO MAKE THE FIRST DECISION. THE FEMALE IS THE STRONGER SEX AND I PROVE MY STATEMENT'S WORTH: IF MEN WERE MEANT TO BEAR THE CHILDREN THERE'D BE NO LIFE ON EARTH! WHAT WOULD MEN DO WITHOUT WOMEN THOUGH THEY DISDAIN US WITH SCORN DO NOT THEY REALIZE WE ARE ROSES AND THEY ARE ONLY THORNS? OF COURSE, WE NEED OUR COUNTERPARTS DON'T MISUNDERSTAND THIS SONG AND WE'LL COMFORT, LOVE AND KEEP THEM (TILL SOMETHING BETTER COMES ALONG.)
Dangerous Woman They say I'm a dangerous woman And I must say that it's probably true But I could be tamed by a man all the same If you do what I tell you to do. There is a kitten in this tiger And a kitten is soft and it's sweet A kitten needs petting and stroking And curling up to play at your feet. But then when the daytime is over And the clock strikes at midnight a while Before the chimes quit you will witness a fit As the kitten becomes a wild child. It's in my nature and I cannot control it For I've always been this way And the kitten in me will diasappear When the tiger comes out to play. And you might be a lucky man Or you might be forlorn Depending on how you use the tools You were given when you were born. You have to know how to talk to me How to say my name How to make me want to let You join my little game. You must learn to be patient For tigers, they love to tease And hide and seek and then retreat And then knock you to your knees. You cannot take your eyes off me But look into my soul You must be bold, if truth be told If you want to reach this goal. But tender, oh so tender Till I open up to you And when you've tamed me with tenderness Then I'll be bold with you. I'll play with you and cuddle you Until your guard is down Then I'll pounce on you out of the blue And turn your world around. Oh, I've got skills and I've made kills Though I never mean to harm You must be tough cause I play rough So be forewarned and armed. I'm only looking for the right kind of man Who can tame me when push comes to shove Who can master me, yet set me free To be his pet, his slave, his love. And men have tried and been denied And few have earned that prize For I can tell by the way they kiss And look into my eyes. If they are worthy of a girl like me If they can ignite the desire That burns in me with a steady blaze And an otherworldly fire. I'm a tigress that prowls in the darkness And a kitten that cuddles up for a nap But you'll never know from one moment to next Which one is curled up on your lap. So yes, I'm a dangerous woman So leave me or take me in hand If you tame me today I will not run away If you'll love me like a dangerous man.
