New Love
New love
Comes as the dawn on a new day
Out of darkness, dreaming
Itself into being
Singing unwritten songs,
Dancing on feet, lonely
And tired of not dancing.
New love
Whispers
While shouting
Delights, while fighting doubt
And holds on tightly
While feigning an attitude
Of laissez-faire.
New love
Is sweet
Like peaches
On a July afternoon,
Bittersweet, perhaps
If left too long,
If taken too soon.
New love
Comes with a fragrance
All it's own
Perfume called desire,
Intoxicative danger
The taste of temptation,
And fear of the unknown.
But..........
No man
Can renounce it
Nor woman, resist
The thrill of it's mystery,
It's romance,
It's bliss.
'Tis all of these things
New love is......
And more
For love
Is the ocean
And the heart
Is it's shore.
