Look, Woman....
Look, Woman....
"Look, woman......" you said
Trying to sound gruff,
Trying to look tough,
'Cause I had been mad
And soon became sad
'Cause things had gone bad
I didn't know why
I didn't know how
I wanted to fix
What was breaking
Down now
I hated to fight
Hated the path and the plight
That love has to trod
When it exchanges sweet nothings
For politics and God
I wanted to go back
To the fun and romance
The tease and the tension
Of an endless slow dance
My heart was so heavy
My eyes started to cry
The mountains fell on me,
The stars from the sky
I wanted to shake you
Make you make sense
But misunderstanding
Made me put up a fence
That I never wanted
With it's "Keep Out!" alarms
"Look, woman....." you said
And before I could shout "What!?"
My hard heart just melted And fell into your arms........ 🧡
