Past and Present
The music of the past poured out
Into the heart break of the present
The long-ago of the far-away
Into the here and now.
He heard her voice so soft and low
Like a tender angel singing
Filling holes within his heart
And never knowing how.
How could that piece of wax so old
Contain such a healing touch?
He didn't know the singer's name
But he loved her very much.
