Like A Breath
You're like a shadow
No one can see
Nobody knows you're there
No one but me.
You're like a falling star
Falling in dark
Waiting to catch fire
But finding no spark.
You're like a hunger
With no one to bite
Holding to nothing
But still holding tight.
You're like a grapevine
With no fruit on the vine
Needing planting and caring
In a garden like mine.
And I'm like a seer
That walks past you and sees
The heat in your coldness
The warmth in the breeze.
I'm like a doctor
That walks through your hell
Picks up your pieces
Wants you to be well.
And I'm like a lover
That your heart forsakes
A giver with passion
That your heart never takes.
And we pass and we pass
In the dark and the dawn
The shadow and seer
Moving onward and on.
You're a mist and a vapor
Like a soul never been
But to me you're the sweet air
That I long to breathe in.
And I wait for that midnight dark
Or that day without sun
When the shadow and seer
Like a breath, become one.
