The Purple Neon Moon
There you were
Standing in the light of the neon moon
Purple, as I recall
I had stepped out of a taxi cab
Onto a rain shiny parking lot
Full of trucks and old cars with new paint jobs
I was lonely
And looking for love (but not really)
'Cause that love diamond had never shone on me
That Brooks and Dunn song was playing
Spilling out of the juke joint
Into the sweet night air and into our souls
And before I could hit the door
You had approached me,
Asked me to dance and I said Yes
And we began to dance on the parking lot
Under the glow of that purple neon moon
On the top of a small club for big lonely hearts
You were a cowboy and I was an Indian
Taken by surprise by the chemistry
That flowed between us like electricity
We danced silently to the most perfect song
For the most perfect moment at the most improbable place
And on that rain shiny parking lot on a sweet Friday night......
The diamonds were shining
and we fell in love.
The creative juices are flowing!💗
