I watched her as she walked along the beach looking for something! Not sure what that may be, but she was definitely looking for something. As she turned and started walking towards me I noticed the bronze necklace she was wearing. It was shaped like a heart with an inscription on it. The closer she got the more pronounced the words were until finally she was almost in front of me.
ReplyDeleteI said to her, "that is a beautiful pendant that you're wearing! Lucky the guy whose heart beats with it." She says, "there is no one! But there is the idea of someone out there for me." As I stared into her emerald green eyes I could see she was needing assurance that there is someone out there who is waiting for her to come along. Then I saw my reflection in her eyes. I had never noticed this before. Having seen and been acquainted with many women, I had never noticed the reflection of my face in any of their eyes. It intrigued me so, that I knew there was something different about her. Now it appeared I was the one looking for that someone. As we stood there talking with the sun fading fast, I asked if she'd like to go for a walk along the beach with me. Not knowing how strange the request may have sounded to her, with a smile she responded, "I'd love to!" I could feel the long silent sigh I had been holding in slowly exit as I exhaled. There was a flood of emotion in her eyes as she walked beside me.
As the sun faded behind us, a full moon lay before us, round and bright as it reflected its light across the water.
We walked, and we talked of what we'd been looking for in life and and never realized until the wee hours of the next morning, that we were both looking for one another.
We had spent that entire time trying to tell each other that. Love at first sight! Who would have guessed......I never knew this would be a moment of treasure to remember.

DeleteI wanted to bring out the depth of the picture and the video and pen it down. What may seem odd is the moment I saw the picture and listened to the song, this narrative began to take shape and pour out in words. And it wasn’t comical or funny..... just romantic in its own way.
