Are You Afraid?

The Last Butterfly
by
Wodkah

Are You Afraid?

Are you afraid? she asked of me
But I answered not her query
For I was much, so much afraid
But thrilled and much and very.

So long I'd waited for her call
So long I'd dreamed of this
Waiting for her promises
Waiting for her kiss.

And dreamless nights had turned me back
When no dream could be found
And I had wandered far and long
On wearied feet and ground.

Waiting on her special isle
Beyond the field of flowers
I sought her every tear-stained night
And waited many hours.

Until my heart had given up
And I turned myself away
To leave that place, with saddened face
And then I heard her say.........

My love, where goeth thou this night?
Why hast thou lost thy dream?
I've watched thee, lo, these many moons
Hidden by the stream.

I made a path of roses
I sang a lover's song
I lit for you a shining light
I waited all night long.

But you looked in all the wrong places
You heard not my sweetened tune
Your tears put out the candle's glow
And your darkness hid the moon.

Come here, beloved, come to me
Rest your weary head
I'll tell you tales to make you well
Of living things and dead.

See how my dark eyes shine for you?
See how my sweet lips smile?
I am a mystery, this is true
But in me, you'll find no guile.

I feel your heart like a thousand drums
Press against my own
I feel your blood rush through that heart
Like it's racing to get home.

Shh!!! Don't speak, don't say a thing!
There's time enough for words
I only want this sweet communion
That our two hearts have heard.

I know you've searched a long long time
And I have evaded you
But I had to prove unto myself
That you, my love, were true.

I'm not like other maidens
Who tease and employ tears
For if you make me weep, my love
I simply disappear.

And all you'll see is a fading glimpse
Or a shadow of my smile
You may hear a snippet of my song
And in dreams, hold me a while.

But not for long and not always
Will your eyes behold my face
For the shadows will take me if I cry
To a dark and dream-less place.

Until my heart is healed and whole
And my soul is once more well
For up till now, no man has learned
To break this cursed spell.

Are you the One, my ever love?
The man to set me free?
For if you're not, turn now and run
And let this maiden be.

For if you're not, turn now and run
And let this maiden be............

Fools On A Gray Autumn Day

Fools On A Gray Autumn Day

Standing here in the silence of a gray, lackluster day
We briefly glance into somber eyes, then turn and look away
You clear your throat and smooth your coat
Your body blocks the sun
I wait to hear your footsteps retreat; I expect to hear them run
But they don't walk and you don't talk
No words spill from your mouth
But heartbeats break the silent roar
That the heart cannot pour out.

Your big hand reaches for my small
That's buried in my pocket
And with the other I undo the clasp
On the sterling silver locket
That holds the picture of the love we shared until today
I put it in your empty hand and still I do not say
Unsaid words that serve no purpose;
For they cannot change a thing
And the unshed tears bring no release
But blind us by their sting.

Goodbye, it is a joke and lie, it expresses no sincere thought
For what is good about the bye? Just another moment bought
An autumn leaf falls on your shoulder from an almost barren tree
And I think the bright red leaf is you and the barren tree is me
We watch a V formation of snow geese on the wing
Flying through the skies above to find another Spring.

One last throat clearing, one last hand clasp
Your lips meet mine once more and last
The saddest smile I've ever seen
Touches your eyes with tearbright gleam
Hands pull apart, eternity ends
Eyes close on memories of there and then
We walk in different directions now
And don't look back, somehow, somehow.

The tears held back, now fall like rain
Down heartbroken faces that drown in pain
And each, we shout  unsaid words then
And hear them stolen by the thieving wind
At the edge of the park, I think I'll turn
To see if you're there ( I never learn))
I pray that you're running on swift feet to me
But I never turn and I never see
And you walk on toward the ocean of blue
And wonder if I am now running toward you.

Your heart beating fast as the locket you grasp
With it's picture of you and of me
But I'm walking and crying and waiting for you to follow
As the locket is thrown into the sea.

Ah, Those British! They Need Tutoring...........

Embarrassing: British Realize They've Been Using The Wrong Words For Hundreds Of Things

World·Dec 13, 2021 · BabylonBee.com

in LONDON - The United Kingdom is a quaint little island country in Europe that speaks English as its primary language - much like the U.S. And while they've always thought a lot of themselves - even having a Queen, (like something out of a fairy tale) - the people there have just suffered a huge embarrassment, finally realizing that for years they've been using the wrong words for hundreds of different things.

It's unclear how they've gone this long without realizing  that they've been talking like fools - perhaps Americans were just too polite to point it out to them. But one foggy day, an uneducated Brit pointed to a food item before him and said, "I'll have those biscuits." And the American looked at him like he was an idiot and said, "Those aren't biscuits. Those are crackers. Crackers. Biscuits are what you have with gravy."

Word soon spread about how the British had that one word wrong, but then they found out it wasn't just that word but hundreds more. "We've been calling the place where you store stuff in your car a 'boot' when it's actually called a 'trunk'," said one British man, "and we've been calling fries 'chips' and chips 'crisps.' And our word for a cigarette is highly offensive. We look like morons."

And it's not just that the British have been using wrong words - they realized they've also been spelling things wrong, often adding an extra 'u' where it isn't needed. They've also been pronouncing things wrong, like aluminum. AL  LOO MIN  NUM for crying out loud!

"Bollocks!" was the common exasperated expression most Britishers shouted upon realizing their thorough embarrassment, though even then an American had to point out that that's not a real word.

Googly Woogly Butterfly

🦋🦋🦋🦋

Googly Woogly Butterfly

Googly woogly butterfly

Love you till the day I die

And when I die I'll love you more

Love your outside and your core.

Shakey wakey

Come on in

Where you goin'?

And where you been?

Giggly wiggly

Dance till dawn

Dance until

Your wiggle's gone.

Sit a while

Beneath this tree

But don't be a coconut

And fall on me.

I'm seriously silly

And I'm probably dumb

Well, I'm here to remind you

That there ain't only one.

I've got me a tale

That I can't rightly tell

'Cause it's full of lies

So it's just as well.

What do you think?

Is our ship sinking?

I'd share my thoughts

But I ain't thinking.

Let's play hopscotch

Til the sidewalk breaks

Oh, you're not a player?

Well, gosh goodness sakes!

Two plus two

And eight plus nine

I missed math class

When I misplaced my mind.

So if you see it

Out rambling 'round

Don't tell nobody

That it's been found.

Just let it be

Let it jump the fence

And let's don't pretend

That this poem makes sense.

On The Edge Of Night one of my favorite writes

On The Edge of Night

I spotted you on the edge of night
Like a waking dream on a morning that will not rise
Your hand waved gently but your eyes held mine with a grip of iron
And across the chasm, our souls touched.

A wolf stood by your side but it whimpered at your word
A raven, nodding with mournful face, cried out a voiceless song
It was a yearning that cannot be spoken
And a darkness that breaks out in sun, and a coming home.

Wonder filled me as I stood dying and rising up again
A rapture and a terror like an ancient thing made new
The moon lay silently about your shoulders
Then fell at your feet, as the shadows passed by, along with my trembling heart.

The chasm beckoned with an unfulfilled hunger
Engulfed me in abandon and a never known joy
And as you watched and waited, in that endless, endless longing
My feet with wings of innocence, found the bridge that was not there.

It's very disheartening. To the point that  I'm thinking of going to another blog site and shutting this one down.  It's like going to work every day and never getting a paycheck....... 😒😟😞😞 But check out her channel and SUBSCRIBE to it. She's wonderful. 2 or 3 videos and you'll be Hooked. 💖
