Back Home

 Back Home

This body is not me

it's just a tent to live in

on the earth.

I did not want to come here

but I was sent from heaven

By way of birth.

Do you not know

how hard it was

to leave that golden shore?

Where love is breathed

in the very air

and joy forevermore?

My spirit dwelled there

with the King

the maker of all things

Who taught the angels

how to fly

and all the birds to sing.

I didn't want

to come here

I begged to let me stay

But I was pushed

out of the nest

in love, sent on my way.

For there's a job

that only I

can, for my Master, do

And there's a mighty calling, too

for you

and you, and you.

We can not ask

the potter why

He has made us thus

We are creations

of His design

and we must learn to trust.

And though we'll often

fail and fail

the training of this life

A crown will one day

be given us

for enduring all this strife.

And all the bad

will fall away

and all the good be measured

Each sacrifice

and obedience

each loss of things we treasured.

The souls of friends

we brought to Him

hard hearts pulled from the fire

The lost and lonely

little ones

rescued from worldly mire.

But none of that

will we think of

when we hear Him bid us come

We'll only see

His shining face

as He welcomes us back home.

FALLING my birthday poem,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,Dec 30th.

Falling

I fell in love the day I was born
Like Elvis said "one frosty morn"
A winter's day nigh the New Year
And cried to find myself dropped here
From clouds of Glory, to Earth I came
To earthly parents and earthly name
I came from Heaven to find a place
And all my memory of there, replaced
I grew to find myself misfit
And full of wisdom, woe and wit
Feeling never at home on this round rock
And searching ever, it never stopped
Falling in love in the abyss of a heart
Reading the end of the story before the story would start
Looking for answers in the eyes of a stranger
Trusting in fools and dealing with danger
Falling and falling and falling, I fell
Falling from Heaven and falling through Hell
Loving the unseen and hoping somehow
I've fallen forever and I'm still falling now.
