Dreamtime and True
Living lives in dreamtime
(This world, a shore of empty tides)
We think in terms of beauty
When our dreams and lives collide.
But waking in a dew filled dawn
We see ghosts among the mist
Night fades in shadows unadorned
With our faces dreamtime kissed.
We reach to catch that phantom
That our dreaming selves can hold
But eyes wide open cannot see
When passion turns to cold.
Were dreams to live in daylight
Were lives to live in dreams
Our hearts would know no difference
For the veil, it has no seams.
The human heart, a treasure chest
Full of jewels beyond compare
That in the light of life may dim
But in dreams shine brightly there.
Colors rage a thousand shades
Dream-colored and dream-hued
And though our lives seem gaunt and gray
In dreams we live the true.
