You Again by John Foxx
Midnight As Always
Midnight, as always
As she slips into my bed
In a gown of satin
Her soft skin silky smooth
As a baby's hand
But far beyond a baby's mode of touch.....
Her touch is like an angel's
But with claws
Claws that set my skin on fire
With their light but heavy movements.
Movements that turn longing into passion,
Needing into famine that must be fed,
Wanting into thirst that must be quenched
Lusting into livid, lascivious, luscious love.
Midnight, as always
Without a word, she comes
Bidden by my heart
And my flesh that's screaming
Screaming sounds that only she can hear.
I hear her quiet footstep...
The robe falling to the floor...
The sheets pulled back....
And her purring sigh
As she falls into my waiting arms.
Our bodies touch, tentatively like strangers
As the breath within our lungs falls into rhythm
We wait without speaking as heart pounds against heart
And her body bids me welcome into it's depths.
She is mine once more........
And I can exhale again as the night becomes alive
And the dream becomes reality
And the fantasy more than dream.
But always at midnight
Does she come
Not nine nor noon nor afternoon
But midnight, as always. Always.
For she is a creature of dream and hope
Conjured by my wayward, hungry heart,
My desire so deep, no mortal can conceive it,
My longing so dark and full of despair,
Only another such as I, may perceive it.
My sighs reach out to her in the darkness,
Call her name softly under my breath
And yet she hears me
And even though she may be a million miles away....
Dancing in another's stolen dream.....
At midnight, as always.....as always......
She comes.
