Just Another Day

Lean On Me

Too Cold To Feel The Fire

πŸ”₯Too Cold To Feel The FireπŸ”₯

Fire lives in me

It always has........

Even though I love the rain

πŸ”₯

But some people only want the rain

And run to it

When fire comes near

πŸ”₯

Their hearts are cold

Perpetually cold

Though their facades portray a warmth

πŸ”₯

I've never understood that

The attraction of fire to water

The pull of warm to cold

πŸ”₯

But that's the way it sometimes goes

In life, in weather,

In love

πŸ”₯

Some, maybe most

Crave the heat and the flame

And the passion that blazes

πŸ”₯

Some, maybe most

Of the loves of my life

Ran to, then away from my fire

πŸ”₯

Their hearts, I thought warm

All too soon turned to ice

Ice, that my heart couldn't melt

πŸ”₯

A conundrum is a puzzling word

But apropos of love

For love is this and love is that

πŸ”₯

And one would think that love's a liar

For my love burns hot but always falls

For those hearts too cold to feel the fire.

My Darling Among Them Devils a song

My Darling Among Them Devils....a nutty song written on myspace for a guy

My Darling Among Them Devils

Let's see: Verse 1

Oh, my darling went north one dark cloudy day
To work with the yankees and such
To work in the factory to make us some money
And oh, Lord, I miss him so much.

Verse 2

Now, we've been a living with his momma and daddy
For nigh on about thirteen years
And we dream of having our own little trailer
But he never could find a job here.

Chorus

Oh, darling, my darling among all them devils
Up there in the cold all alone
Don't let them yankees change you, little darling
Work hard and then hurry on home.

Verse 3

Down here in the South, we're so loving and giving
Up there in the North, I've heard tell
That all of them yankees are cold hearted strangers
And most of them came straight from hell.

Verse 4

Your momma has baked you a big ole opossum
Your daddy has brewed you some "shine"
We miss you so much, dear, down here in the holler
Tell them yankee gals you are mine!

Chorus

Oh, darling, my darling among all them devils
Up there in the cold all alone
Don't let them yankees change you, little darling
Work hard and then hurry on home.

spoken sad part:

Oh, darlin', my darlin', among all them devils
A drankin' and livin carefree
Send me your paycheck or you'll find, little darlin
That they aint half as devilish as me.....

A Thousand Words

A Thousand Words

A thousand words
On twenty-five balled up pieces of paper later
I still have no idea how to say
What needs to be said
What should have been said
A hundred heartbreaks ago.

It 's just so hard
To find the words to properly convey
A tender farewell
A loving tone and a gentle goodbye
That will not wound
Someone already walking wounded.

I start and stop
Rewrite a refrain, revise an old rhyme
Throw in some honkey tonk lyrics
Soften it all with some bubblegum pop
And images of violins playing softly in the background.

I don't know why I bother
You would only sneer at the above stanza
It's heavy metal and anarchist beats you love
Punk rock so loud your eardrums bleed
And anything to do with pain. Especially mine.

See how my little hands shake?
I can hardly hold a pencil
I can barely see to write
My eyes are black, my soul is bruised
And I sit here trying not to hurt you.

If I could talk, I wouldn't
For that only makes you mad
Only makes you crazy..er than usual
When you walk through the door
Hell bent for hating and still needing love.

I don't know what happened to you
To make you be this way
To make you into a hollow man
But I've got to find a way to go
Before there's no me left.

I hear your footsteps now
Coming up the stairs
Hear you rehearsing new slurs
That you haven't used yet
Though their cold jagged points
 Have already hit home.

I hide the balls of paper
Underneath the bed
Throw the pencil into a drawer
Brush the tears from my cheeks
And turn up the corners of my mouth into a hideous smile
As you and your pain walk into the room.

A thousand words
Form in my brain
A thousand words stick on my tongue
I look at you and remember how you used to be
Before you let down your guard and took off your mask
You look so alone, so small and alone
But tomorrow, for sure, I'm writing that letter.
