And The Moon Melted
The moon rose high up in the sky
Without a single sound
The wind like silk, embraced our shadows
Lying on the ground.
Your lips, wine stained, delicious
Devoured mine hungrily
And your dark eyes of paradise
Made my eyes, Eden, see.
The soft waves, ebbing slowly
As the sea, it's symphony, played
A dark background with silver gleaming
While my heart, at your feet, laid.
Your questioning eyes, my questioning sighs
Asked questions without words
And our hearts, in answer, in rhythm, shouted
What only two hearts had heard.
Your hand, upon my chin, to raise
My face up to your glance
You kissed me softly like a whisper
And our feet began to dance.
For music then sprang from everything
With no musician hidden there
And the night clouds parted, silently fleeing
To reveal the bright moon there.
The love that shone as night moved on
All of our sadness, shattered
And we forgot our pasts and forgot our pain
Knowing now was all that mattered.
And the moon, knowing much about love herself, smiled
As you melted yourself into me
And the moon, who loved those dark silvery waters
Melted herself into the sea.
