Sudden Onslaught
(remembering the way)
The window cracked
To let in the chill,
I hear the melody
Of falling rain........
Listening intently,
Remembering the way
We loved on nights like this
Before the bliss was plundered by the pain
Do you remember? The way it used to be?
Loving each other, your heart on mine
Fickering flames in our hungry eyes
And your hand upon my hair?
We had so little.......
In that little room
To call our own
But love was living there
But then the destroyers of love
That you never see coming
Sneering with disdain
Stabbed us in our backs
Love's foundation split open
Like a tree hit by lightning
We fell, torn apart by the sudden onslaught
And watched all our love slip away through the cracks.
(Remember the way?)

Quite a description of nostalgic reminiscing. Such intimate vulnerability of a lost love. I love it, Voo! ❤️
