I am a Storyteller, first and foremost. This is my blog for poetry, prose, stories, excerpts of my novels and videos. Life poetry, prophetic poetry, poetry for all genres. I think you'll find yourself here if you read long enough.
I want you like I need you I need you like I love I love you like the ground below And like the sky above I feel you in the twilight Like soft sand 'neath my feet Coming through the atmosphere And there my heart to meet Touching me with just your eyes Devouring with your glance You reach for me as your soul sings And pulls me close to dance The day, forgotten, the night, awaits And loneliness is gone We kiss, we love, we touch, we sing As the night writes us it's song
These three pieces of music are exquisite and make the reading of the poem like a movie playing in your mind. Read slowly and savor all the nuances and by the end of the poem you should be at the end of the last song if you time it right!!!!It's pure Magic!!! Depending on how fast or slowly you read, I suggest you let the first song play almost to the end to absorb the nuances and get into the right frame of mind. The third song should take you to the very end of the write. You'll see what I mean....
"Finding You Again"
Where are you, my love?
What sea has taken you to foreign shores
To mountains I cannot traverse, nor valleys
Will I not see the face again that I adore?
The eyes that shone with love for me at meeting
The heart that beat in rhythm with my own?
The arms of steel that reached as I lay weeping
Grasped me up and welcomed me to home.
Where are you tonight, my best beloved?
What fate has befallen you alone out there?
What woe has stilled your golden voice from calling
And kept your running feet from coming here?
Send word to me by messenger or raven
On the backs of steeds or in the mouths of fish
Send me word before I die of longing
Before my heart forgets to hope or wish.
Can you feel me reaching for you now?
My fingers blindly groping in the dark
Touching naught but voids all full of nothing
Seeing not a flicker or a spark.
So long, so long, dear heart, have I been waiting
Standing by the sad and silent shore
Watching for a sign there in the blue skies
Thinking you don't love me anymore.
But surely it's a demon whispering to me
Surely, it cannot be true or fact
If you are lost then my love must go on searching
To the ends of all of the earth to bring you back.
I cry, I cry with tears of endless yearning
I weep with sorrow from a broken heart
I need, I need to know where you are hiding
And what thing conspires to keep our souls apart.
The whispering winds can carry my words to you
Surely, God will send them to your ears
He formed the two of us to be together
He can't approve of all this suffering here.
See how the butterflies cling to my teardrops!
They try to wipe my loneliness away
They kiss me with their tiny, fragile wings now
And wave back to me as they fly away.
And look! See how the roses grow around me!
They caress my skin and leave their sweet perfume
A sky lark perches on a tree branch swaying
And sings to me, "Don't weep, you'll see him soon."
What hope leaps in my heart from out of nowhere!
What love surrounds me from an unknown source
I hear a sound that's coming from a distance
Like pounding hooves...and there it is, the horse!
And on it's back, a man clad in white raiment
I raise my hands to Heaven that God's heard
But when he reaches me, he is a stranger
And he says to me, "I bring you word.
The one you love was wounded in the battle
He clings to life by just a slender thread
But for your love he's held on by sheer willing
By all accounts he should have been long dead."
And all my heart and all my soul cries for you
With bitter tears that fall like torrent rain
I run to the horse and man who pulls me upward
Who seems to feel my heartbreak and my pain.
And on we ride through other-worldly sunlight
Through forests I have never seen before
To a castle tall and shining just before us
And to gates of pearl that I've read about in lore.
I feel you coming towards me Like a tidal wave at midnight Like a waterfall at daybreak Like a hurricane In the middle of a desert Washing away my fears Giving me fresh tears But tears of joy and light.
Your face is a vision to my eyes Your smile like the sun on a distant planet Your hands reaching Teaching me to reach back And gather you to my soul Your touch is like fire Fire that burns but never burns up Like a miracle And a magician's illusion That is more real than real.
My eyes see you Even when they're closed Even when they're blinded By shooting stars And flashes of would-be stars That appear on my horizon To steal my heart away From the only one it loves.
I am weak, this is true And human and flesh And always hungry for feeling Passion rules me And kills me And drives me away and toward At the same time Away from and toward you And your cleansing rain And my devouring flame.
I am me, woman that I am And yours, man that you are Wanting more than anyone can give And giving more than anyone Can take A flame within an ocean, An ocean that burns With liquid fire That can never be quenched Till it be quenched in dust of death.
Feel that breeze caress your skin That is me Feel that kiss leave sweetness Upon your lips.......... That is me Feel that heat that envelopes Your cooling heart That is me loving you Loving you, loving you Like a song is loved by a singer And a masterpiece, by it's painter.
And when you have loved me again And I have dissolved like debris in water Every ash and atom of me Will still love you, still need you, Still call your name To the four winds Still wait for you to pull me back together And mend my broken wings So I can once more fly At your command.
I don't know if I love you More than need you, More than want you, More than crave you Like a magic potion Made especially for me by the medicine man Who looked into my soul And knew what I needed More than I did And conjured you up Out of bits of broken hearts And raindrops.
Every night with you I go embarking on a vision quest To find myself And finding myself in you A man made of magic And lust so pure It is too sacred to be spoken of Above a whisper in hallowed halls.
Inside you, There is a heaven and a hell And a journey to be made To the center of a heart As big as the universe And as warm as candles Forming a circle in the sand For us to dance within Where no music is needed But is given to us by tongues of angels And played on harps of gold.
You step out of the ocean Mythical and ethereal Cooled and bathed By the small white hands of waves Lapping against your flesh like the kisses Of mermaids Thereby refreshed by Poseidon And released by waters Centuries old.
You stop and look around you Looking for me The woman of fire and desire That waits on the shore Waiting for you to need me yet again Under another star filled night In a circle full of light Our eyes meet And lock with keys of longing As our mouths form smiles And taste kisses That have not yet been kissed.
And you are coming towards me And I am waiting like a woman Who obeys Who waits for permission to speak Who looks for a nod of your head to approach And I let you think I will yet wait again But I do not. Not tonight.
Throwing my white robes to the wind I step outside the circle Bare as a baby, newborn And on sand as soft as silk I make my way to you Dancing like a feather in a storm And then I run As your body pulls me to you like a magnet I cannot resist nor do I want to And you are coming towards me As I come to you You, the tidal wave and me, the burning fire And we embrace again, as always In liquid flame.
